Job Description

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you as a Disability Claims Examiner at the State of Utah.As a Disability Claims Examiner, you will play a crucial role in determining eligibility for disability benefits and ensuring that individuals receive the necessary assistance and services. With your empathy and understanding, you will work closely with applicants to guide them through the claims process and provide them with the necessary support.To be successful in this role, you must have excellent communication skills, a deep understanding of disability laws and regulations, and the ability to make sound decisions based on thorough analysis.   1. Review and evaluate disability claims in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations.
  2. Communicate with applicants to gather necessary information and guide them through the claims process.
  3. Conduct thorough analysis of medical records, employment history, and other relevant information to determine eligibility for disability benefits.
  4. Make fair and accurate decisions on disability claims based on the analysis of all available information.
  5. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all claims and related documents.
  6. Work closely with other team members, including medical professionals and legal experts, to gather information and make informed decisions.
  7. Stay updated on changes in disability laws and regulations to ensure compliance and accuracy in claims processing.
  8. Provide support and assistance to applicants throughout the claims process, including answering questions and addressing concerns.
  9. Collaborate with other agencies and organizations to connect individuals with disabilities to necessary resources and support services.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  11. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
  12. Demonstrate empathy, compassion, and understanding towards individuals with disabilities.
  13. Adhere to strict ethical standards and ensure fairness and impartiality in all decision-making.
  14. Meet productivity and quality standards set by the organization.
  15. Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to disability claims processing.
  16. Represent the organization in a professional manner and maintain positive relationships with applicants and other stakeholders.

Job Qualifications
  • Excellent Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills.

  • Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Social Work, Psychology, Or Healthcare Administration.
