Welcome to the State of Utah! We are currently seeking a BAS Controls Technical Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to use your expertise in building automation systems to support and maintain the state's facilities. As a technical specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our facilities are running efficiently and effectively. We are looking for someone who is passionate about energy conservation and has a strong understanding of BAS controls.   1. Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of building automation systems to ensure optimal functioning and energy efficiency.
  2. Develop and implement energy conservation strategies and initiatives to reduce energy consumption in state facilities.
  3. Monitor and analyze building automation data to identify potential issues and make recommendations for improvement.
  4. Collaborate with other team members and departments to identify and address facility needs and concerns.
  5. Train and educate facility staff on the proper use and maintenance of building automation systems.
  6. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments in building automation technology.
  7. Conduct regular inspections of building automation systems and equipment to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  8. Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for installation and maintenance of building automation systems.
  9. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all work performed.
  10. Act as a resource for colleagues and provide technical support as needed.
  11. Participate in meetings and presentations to share updates and recommendations on building automation systems.
  12. Continuously seek opportunities to improve and optimize building automation processes and procedures.
  13. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety protocols.
  14. Proactively identify and report any potential hazards or risks related to building automation systems.
  15. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while representing the state of Utah and its values.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Mechanical Or Electrical Engineering, Or A Closely Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Experience In Building Automation Systems (Bas) Design, Installation, And Maintenance.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Hvac Systems And Controls, Including Experience With Various Control Protocols Such As Bacnet And Modbus.

  • Strong Troubleshooting And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Diagnose And Resolve Complex Technical Issues.

  • Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Team, With Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills.
