- Conduct legal research and analysis related to civil rights laws and regulations in the State of Utah.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to the Civil Rights Division and other state agencies on civil rights matters.
- Investigate and review complaints of civil rights violations and determine appropriate legal action.
- Prepare and represent the Division in court proceedings, including drafting legal documents and presenting oral arguments.
- Collaborate with other legal professionals, community organizations, and government agencies to promote and protect civil rights.
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders and community members to enhance the Division's understanding of civil rights issues.
- Stay updated on changes in civil rights laws and regulations and provide recommendations for policy updates.
- Conduct outreach and education initiatives to increase awareness of civil rights protections and resources.
- Assist in the development and implementation of training programs for Division staff and other state employees on civil rights laws and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all cases and actions taken by the Division.
- Uphold ethical standards and confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
- Collaborate with the Attorney General's office and other state agencies on civil rights-related matters.
- Participate in Division meetings, training, and other professional development opportunities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Civil Rights Division Director or Assistant Attorney General.
Juris Doctor (J.d.) Degree From An Accredited Law School
Admission To The Utah State Bar And In Good Standing
At Least 3 Years Of Experience Practicing Civil Rights Law
Familiarity With Federal And State Civil Rights Laws And Regulations
