  1. Monitor and assess high-risk areas within the designated wildland urban interface (WUI) zone.
  2. Identify potential fire hazards and report them to the appropriate authorities.
  3. Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of fire prevention equipment and infrastructure.
  4. Collaborate with local fire departments and agencies to develop and implement wildfire prevention strategies.
  5. Educate and engage community members on fire safety and prevention measures.
  6. Respond to and assist in the suppression of wildfires as needed.
  7. Conduct prescribed burns and fuel reduction projects to mitigate wildfire risk.
  8. Maintain accurate records and reports of all activities and incidents.
  9. Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and best practices related to wildland fire management.
  10. Attend trainings and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills in wildfire prevention and response.
  11. Participate in emergency preparedness and response efforts in the event of a wildfire or other disaster.
  12. Represent the organization in a professional and positive manner at all times.
  13. Continuously evaluate and improve wildfire prevention and response strategies.
  14. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Wildland Fire Management: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess A Strong Understanding Of Wildland Fire Behavior, Suppression Techniques, And Prevention Strategies. This Knowledge Will Be Essential In Identifying Potential Fire Risks And Effectively Mitigating Them In The Wildland-Urban Interface Areas.

  • Experience In Fire Prevention And Mitigation: The Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Fire Prevention And Mitigation Activities. This Could Include Conducting Fuel Reduction Projects, Implementing Prescribed Burns, And Educating The Public On Fire Safety Measures.

  • Physical Fitness And Outdoor Skills: As An Area Wildland Urban Interface Technician, The Job Will Involve Working In Remote And Rugged Terrain. Therefore, The Candidate Should Be Physically Fit And Possess Outdoor Skills Such As Map Reading, Navigation, And Hiking.

  • Emergency Response Experience: In The Event Of A Wildfire, The Candidate Should Be Able To Respond Quickly And Effectively. Previous Experience In Emergency Response And Incident Management, Such As Working As A Wildland Firefighter, Will Be Highly Desirable.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Candidate Should Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Landowners, Community Members, And Other Agency Personnel. This Will Be Crucial In Promoting Fire Safety Awareness And Building Partnerships For Successful Fire Prevention Efforts.
