
Tax Litigation - Legal Secretary

In this role, you will be an essential part of our legal team, providing crucial support to our attorneys as we navigate complex tax litigation cases. As the Legal Secretary, you will play a critical role in organizing and managing legal documents, maintaining communication with clients, and assisting with administrative tasks. We are looking for a candidate who is detail-oriented, able to work independently and within a team, and has a strong background in tax law. - Organize and manage legal documents, ensuring they are accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible for attorneys.
- Communicate regularly with clients and other parties involved in the litigation process.
- Assist attorneys with case preparation, including drafting and proofreading legal documents.
- Manage and maintain attorney calendars, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings.
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases.
- Create and maintain case files, both physical and electronic.
- Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings.
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails, letters, and faxes.
- Prepare and file court documents and other legal forms.
- Manage and track billing and expenses related to cases.
- Serve as a liaison between attorneys, clients, and other parties involved in the litigation process.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and documents.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as answering phones, taking messages, and organizing office supplies.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the legal team to ensure the success of each case.
Minimum Of 3 Years Experience As A Legal Secretary In A Law Firm Or Government Agency, With A Focus On Tax Litigation.
In-Depth Knowledge Of State And Federal Tax Laws And Regulations, Including The Ability To Research And Interpret Complex Tax Codes.
Proficiency In Various Computer Programs And Legal Software, Such As Microsoft Office, Lexisnexis, And E-Filing Systems.
Excellent Organizational And Time-Management Skills, With The Ability To Handle Multiple Tasks And Prioritize Deadlines Effectively.
Strong Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, With The Ability To Interact Professionally With Attorneys, Clients, And Government Officials.
