Your ability to build relationships, think strategically, and use innovative recruitment strategies will be crucial in ensuring we have a diverse and talented workforce.We are looking for a self-starter with excellent communication and organizational skills, who is also able to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.   1. Develop and implement innovative and effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent for various positions within the state.
  2. Utilize various sourcing methods, such as job boards, social media, networking events, and employee referrals, to identify and engage with potential candidates.
  3. Conduct thorough candidate screenings and assessments to ensure a strong fit for both the position and the organization.
  4. Build and maintain relationships with hiring managers and other stakeholders to understand their recruitment needs and provide guidance and support throughout the hiring process.
  5. Collaborate with the HR team to continuously improve and streamline the recruitment process.
  6. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in recruitment, and make recommendations for improvement as needed.
  7. Serve as an ambassador for the state of Texas, promoting our organization and opportunities to potential candidates.
  8. Track and analyze recruitment data to measure the effectiveness of various sourcing and recruiting strategies.
  9. Act as a point of contact for candidates, providing a positive and professional experience throughout the recruitment process.
  10. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to recruitment and hiring.
  11. Participate in job fairs, career events, and other recruitment activities to promote our organization and attract top talent.
  12. Contribute to the development of employer branding initiatives to attract and retain top talent.
  13. Assist with onboarding and orientation of new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into their new roles.
  14. Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate and recruitment records.
  15. Collaborate with the HR team to develop and implement diversity and inclusion initiatives within the recruitment process.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Human Resources Or Related Field: A Strong Educational Background In Hr Or A Related Field Is Often Required For A Talent Acquisition Specialist Position. This Provides A Solid Foundation Of Knowledge In Recruitment And Selection Processes.

  • Previous Experience In Talent Acquisition: Prior Experience In Talent Acquisition, Preferably In A Government Or Public Sector Setting, Is Highly Desirable For This Role. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Good Understanding Of The Unique Challenges And Regulations Involved In Recruiting For A State Agency.

  • Strong Communication Skills: A Talent Acquisition Specialist Must Possess Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Interact With Candidates, Hiring Managers, And Other Stakeholders. This Includes Written And Verbal Communication, As Well As Active Listening And Interpersonal Skills.

  • Knowledge Of Hr Laws And Regulations: As A Representative Of The State Of Texas, A Talent Acquisition Specialist Must Be Well-Versed In Federal And State Employment Laws, Regulations, And Policies. This Ensures Compliance With All Relevant Laws And Helps Mitigate Potential Legal Risks.

  • Experience With Applicant Tracking Systems: Proficiency In Using Applicant Tracking Systems (Ats) Is A Must For This Role. The State Of Texas May Have Its Own Preferred Ats, So Prior Experience With It Is A Plus. Familiarity With Other Hris And Recruitment Software Is Also Beneficial.
