  1. Conduct thorough and comprehensive policy analysis on a wide range of issues to inform decision-making at the state level.
  2. Collaborate with various government agencies and stakeholders to gather information and data related to policy development and implementation.
  3. Develop and present policy recommendations to senior leadership based on research and analysis.
  4. Monitor policy trends and changes at the federal and state level and assess their potential impact on Texas.
  5. Evaluate existing policies and programs to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for reform.
  6. Serve as a subject matter expert in government systems and procedures, providing guidance and expertise to other team members.
  7. Draft policy briefs, reports, and other materials to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences.
  8. Attend and represent the State of Texas at meetings, conferences, and other events related to policy development and implementation.
  9. Work closely with legislators, government officials, and community leaders to gather input and feedback on proposed policies.
  10. Utilize data and evidence-based research to develop and support policy positions and initiatives.
  11. Provide guidance and support to junior policy analysts and interns.
  12. Continuously track and evaluate the effectiveness of policies and make recommendations for improvement.
  13. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards in policy development and implementation.
  14. Stay updated on current events and issues that may impact policy decisions in Texas.
  15. Maintain a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity in all aspects of the job.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, Or A Related Field.

  • At Least 5 Years Of Experience In Policy Analysis And Development At The State Or Federal Level.

  • Strong Understanding Of The Legislative Process And Ability To Draft And Analyze Legislative Proposals.

  • Excellent Research And Analytical Skills, With The Ability To Interpret Complex Data And Make Evidence-Based Recommendations.

  • Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Communicate Complex Policy Issues To Diverse Audiences.
