  1. Plan and implement public health programs to address the health needs of the community.
  2. Conduct health assessments and screenings to identify and prevent health issues.
  3. Collaborate with community partners, such as healthcare providers and community organizations, to coordinate and improve health services.
  4. Provide direct nursing care and treatment to individuals and families in the community.
  5. Educate individuals and groups on health promotion, disease prevention, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with community members and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  7. Collect, analyze, and report on data related to public health programs and initiatives.
  8. Stay updated on current public health issues and trends to inform program development and implementation.
  9. Serve as a resource and advocate for community members, connecting them with necessary health services and resources.
  10. Adhere to all state and federal regulations and guidelines related to public health nursing.
  11. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all services provided and outcomes achieved.
  12. Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development and evaluation of public health policies and procedures.
  13. Continuously evaluate and improve public health programs to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
  14. Serve as a role model and mentor for other nursing staff and students.
  15. Uphold the ethical standards and code of conduct for the nursing profession.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution: An Essential Qualification For A Public Health Nurse At State Of Texas Is A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing. This Degree Provides A Strong Foundation In Nursing Principles, Health Promotion, And Disease Prevention, Which Are Crucial For A Public Health Nurse.

  • Valid Rn License In The State Of Texas: A Public Health Nurse Must Hold A Valid Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Texas. This License Ensures That The Nurse Has Met The Educational And Competency Requirements To Provide Safe And Effective Healthcare Services.

  • Knowledge Of Public Health Principles And Practices: Candidates For A Public Health Nurse Job At State Of Texas Must Have A Solid Understanding Of Public Health Principles And Practices. This Includes Knowledge Of Epidemiology, Health Education, Community Assessment, And Program Planning And Evaluation.

  • Experience In Community Health Or Public Health Nursing: Prior Experience In Community Health Or Public Health Nursing Is Highly Desirable For A Public Health Nurse Position At State Of Texas. This Experience Demonstrates An Understanding Of The Unique Challenges And Opportunities Of Working In A Community-Based Setting.
