Job Description

The State of Texas is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as the HIV Prevention Team Lead. This is a unique opportunity to lead and coordinate statewide efforts to prevent the spread of HIV and promote healthy behaviors among high-risk populations.   1. Develop and implement statewide HIV prevention strategies in collaboration with key stakeholders and partners.
  2. Lead and supervise a team of public health professionals to effectively execute HIV prevention initiatives.
  3. Provide guidance and support to local health departments and community-based organizations in implementing evidence-based HIV prevention interventions.
  4. Conduct needs assessments and data analysis to identify high-risk populations and target prevention efforts accordingly.
  5. Stay updated on current trends and research in HIV prevention to inform program development and decision-making.
  6. Manage budget and resources allocated for HIV prevention efforts and ensure effective use of funds.
  7. Collaborate with other state agencies and departments to integrate HIV prevention into broader public health initiatives.
  8. Represent the state of Texas at relevant conferences, meetings, and events related to HIV prevention.
  9. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of HIV prevention programs and make recommendations for improvement.
  10. Communicate and educate the public about HIV prevention strategies and resources available.
  11. Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and other key stakeholders to enhance HIV prevention efforts.
  12. Stay informed about state and federal policies and regulations related to HIV prevention and ensure compliance.
  13. Prepare reports and presentations on the progress and impact of HIV prevention efforts to state leadership and external stakeholders.
  14. Serve as a subject matter expert on HIV prevention for media inquiries and public speaking engagements.
  15. Foster a culture of inclusivity and diversity within the HIV prevention team and promote a positive work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Public Health, Social Work, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Hiv Prevention And Education, Preferably In A Leadership Role.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of Current Hiv Prevention Strategies And Interventions.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With Diverse Stakeholders And Community Organizations.

  • Experience Managing And Coordinating Multiple Projects And Teams, With A Proven Track Record Of Achieving Program Goals And Objectives.
