  1. Develop and implement strategies to improve the health outcomes of the diverse population in the State of Texas.
  2. Lead and manage a team of public health nurses to effectively deliver healthcare services to citizens.
  3. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to address current and emerging health needs in the state.
  4. Stay updated on healthcare policies and regulations and ensure compliance within the department.
  5. Oversee the allocation of resources for public health nursing programs and initiatives.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and government agencies to promote the health and well-being of citizens.
  7. Conduct research and gather data to identify and prioritize health issues in the state.
  8. Implement evidence-based practices and programs to promote health and prevent disease.
  9. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of public health nursing programs and make necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
  10. Develop and maintain budgets for public health nursing programs and ensure efficient use of resources.
  11. Provide guidance and support to public health nurses in their daily responsibilities.
  12. Develop and implement training programs for public health nurses to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  13. Represent the State of Texas at national and regional meetings and conferences related to public health nursing.
  14. Communicate with the public and media about public health issues and initiatives.
  15. Collaborate with state and federal agencies to secure funding for public health nursing programs and initiatives.

Job Qualifications
  • A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Public Health Nursing At A Supervisory Or Managerial Level.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited University.

  • Current And Valid Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Texas.

  • Master's Degree In Public Health Or A Related Field Is Preferred.

  • Strong Knowledge Of State And Federal Laws And Regulations Related To Public Health Nursing, As Well As Experience In Developing And Implementing Public Health Programs.
