
Communications Director

- Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies to effectively promote the State of Texas and its initiatives to a global audience.
- Lead a team of communication professionals to ensure cohesive messaging and branding across all platforms.
- Collaborate with various government agencies and departments to identify key messaging and develop targeted communication plans.
- Act as a spokesperson for the State of Texas, representing the state in media interviews and public speaking engagements.
- Monitor and analyze media coverage and public perception of the state, and make recommendations for adjustments to communication strategies as needed.
- Manage and maintain relationships with media outlets and other external stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain crisis communication plans to effectively handle any potential issues or negative publicity.
- Stay informed on current trends and best practices in public relations and utilize this knowledge to continuously improve communication efforts.
- Provide guidance and support to government officials and other stakeholders on effective communication strategies and messaging.
- Ensure compliance with all ethical and legal standards in communication efforts.
- Develop and manage communication budgets and resources.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and tourism, to ensure cohesive messaging and branding across all efforts.
- Represent the State of Texas at various events and conferences, promoting its message and initiatives.
- Act as a liaison between the state government and the public, addressing any concerns or inquiries.
- Continuously evaluate and measure the effectiveness of communication strategies and make adjustments as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
Bachelor's Degree In Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Communications Or Public Relations, Preferably In A Government Setting.
Extensive Knowledge Of Media Relations, Crisis Communications, And Strategic Communications Planning.
Strong Leadership Skills And Experience Managing A Team Of Communications Professionals.
Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills And Ability To Effectively Communicate With Diverse Audiences.
