As the Civil Rights Director, you will play a critical role in ensuring that the civil rights of all Texans are upheld and protected.   1. Develop and implement strategies and policies to promote and protect civil rights for all individuals in the State of Texas.
  2. Oversee all civil rights initiatives and programs within the state government, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws.
  3. Serve as the primary contact and resource for individuals and organizations seeking information or assistance with civil rights issues.
  4. Conduct investigations and resolve complaints related to civil rights violations.
  5. Collaborate with other state agencies and community organizations to address civil rights issues and promote diversity and inclusion.
  6. Advise and educate state officials, employees, and the general public on civil rights laws, regulations, and best practices.
  7. Monitor and analyze civil rights trends and developments, and make recommendations for policy and program changes.
  8. Develop and deliver training programs to educate state employees on civil rights laws and procedures.
  9. Participate in public outreach and education initiatives to raise awareness of civil rights issues and promote a culture of inclusivity.
  10. Represent the state government in meetings, conferences, and other events related to civil rights.
  11. Manage a team of civil rights professionals, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  12. Stay current with legislative and legal developments related to civil rights and provide guidance on their impact on state policies and procedures.
  13. Prepare reports and recommendations for state officials and agencies regarding civil rights issues and initiatives.
  14. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies related to civil rights.
  15. Uphold the values of equality, fairness, and justice in all aspects of the job.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Law, Political Science, Or A Related Field.

  • At Least 5 Years Of Experience In Civil Rights Advocacy Or Enforcement.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Federal And State Civil Rights Laws And Regulations.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Diverse Communities.

  • Experience In Managing And Leading A Team Of Staff Members, With A Proven Track Record Of Promoting Diversity And Inclusion.
