  1. Investigate bankruptcy and collections cases in a timely and thorough manner.
  2. Analyze financial information and documents to determine the validity of debts owed to the state.
  3. Communicate with debtors, attorneys, and other relevant parties to gather information and resolve cases.
  4. Maintain accurate and organized records of all investigations and case resolutions.
  5. Collaborate with other team members, including legal counsel and external agencies, to ensure the proper handling of cases.
  6. Keep up-to-date with relevant laws and regulations pertaining to bankruptcy and collections.
  7. Identify and recommend improvements to current processes and procedures to ensure efficient and effective case resolution.
  8. Prioritize and manage a caseload to meet deadlines and maintain productivity.
  9. Provide clear and concise reports to management on case findings and resolutions.
  10. Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards in all investigations and interactions with debtors.
  11. Represent the state in court proceedings related to bankruptcy and collections cases.
  12. Act as a point of contact for any inquiries or concerns related to bankruptcy and collections cases.
  13. Train and mentor new team members on investigative processes and procedures.
  14. Contribute to the overall mission of ensuring financial stability for the citizens of the state of Texas.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Accounting, Finance, Or A Related Field.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Bankruptcy And Collections Investigations.

  • Knowledge Of State And Federal Bankruptcy Laws And Regulations.
