Job Description

  1. Conduct investigations: Conduct thorough and comprehensive investigations into alleged violations of institutional rules, misconduct, and criminal activity within the correctional facility.
  2. Ensure safety and security: Maintain a safe and secure environment within the correctional facility by identifying and addressing potential threats and implementing appropriate security measures.
  3. Uphold justice: Ensure that all investigations are conducted in a fair and unbiased manner, adhering to the principles of due process and upholding the rights of all individuals involved.
  4. Communicate effectively: Utilize excellent communication skills to gather information, interview witnesses, and report findings to superiors and other relevant parties.
  5. Attention to detail: Possess a keen eye for detail and the ability to analyze and interpret complex information, ensuring accuracy and reliability in all investigative reports and documentation.
  6. Problem-solving: Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the correctional facility.
  7. Maintain confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information and investigations, adhering to all relevant laws and regulations.
  8. Collaborate with team members: Work collaboratively with other correctional staff, law enforcement agencies, and external partners to gather information and solve cases.
  9. Follow procedures: Adhere to all policies, procedures, and protocols set forth by the correctional facility and the State of Tennessee.
  10. Commitment to integrity: Demonstrate a strong commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct in all aspects of the job.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of State And Federal Laws, Regulations, And Procedures Related To Corrections And Investigations.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Criminal Justice, Criminology, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Law Enforcement, Corrections, Or Investigative Work.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Interview And Gather Information From Inmates, Staff, And Witnesses.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Review And Analyze Evidence, Reports, And Other Related Documents.
