Job Description

  • Oversee the procurement process for goods and services, including researching potential vendors, soliciting and evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations and policies related to procurement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors to secure the best deals for the state.
  • Analyze data and market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities for the state.
  • Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and provide guidance and support.
  • Review and approve purchase requests to ensure proper documentation and adherence to procurement policies.
  • Conduct regular audits of procurement processes to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and changes in procurement regulations to ensure the state's procurement practices are current and effective.
  • Communicate effectively with all parties involved in the procurement process, including vendors, department staff, and state officials.
  • Train and mentor junior procurement officers and staff on procurement processes and best practices.
  • Prepare and present reports on procurement activities and cost savings to management and stakeholders.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Procurement, Contract Management, Or Purchasing.

  • Knowledge Of State And Federal Procurement Laws, Regulations, And Procedures.

  • Strong Analytical And Negotiation Skills.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Internal And External Stakeholders.
