
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PLANNER 2
Welcome to the State of Tennessee's Emergency Management team! We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency Management Planner 2 to join our dynamic and dedicated team. In this role, you will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and coordinating emergency management plans to ensure the safety and security of our state and its citizens. - Develop and implement emergency management plans to prepare for and respond to potential disasters and emergencies.
- Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure seamless and effective emergency response efforts.
- Conduct risk assessments and identify potential hazards and vulnerabilities within the state.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to identify and prioritize critical infrastructure and resources for emergency response.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal emergency management regulations and guidelines.
- Monitor and analyze emergency response data to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for future plans.
- Participate in trainings, drills, and exercises to test and evaluate emergency response plans.
- Stay up-to-date on emerging trends and best practices in emergency management and incorporate them into planning efforts.
- Provide guidance and assistance to local emergency management agencies and first responders.
- Support and assist in the coordination of disaster relief operations as needed.
- Serve as a point of contact for emergency management issues and communicate updates to relevant parties.
- Mentor and train junior emergency management staff.
- Stay informed of current and potential threats to the state and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Represent the state's emergency management team at meetings, conferences, and other events.
- Continuously assess and improve emergency management plans and procedures to ensure the safety and security of Tennessee's citizens.
Bachelor's Degree In Emergency Management, Public Administration, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Emergency Planning, Response, And Recovery.
Knowledge Of Federal And State Emergency Management Laws, Regulations, And Procedures.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Coordinate With Various Agencies And Stakeholders.
Certification In Emergency Management, Such As Certified Emergency Manager (Cem) Or Professional Continuity Practitioner (Pcp), Preferred.
