
CORRECTIONAL OFFICER 2

- Maintain the safety and security of the correctional facility by closely monitoring inmates, conducting routine searches, and responding to emergencies.
- Provide supervision and guidance to inmates, ensuring they adhere to facility rules and regulations.
- Conduct daily inspections of the facility and report any security concerns or violations.
- Possess strong communication skills to effectively interact with inmates, staff, and visitors.
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills to handle difficult situations and de-escalate conflicts.
- Participate in training programs to maintain knowledge of policies, procedures, and best practices in corrections.
- Monitor inmate behavior and report any unusual or suspicious activities.
- Conduct regular checks on inmate living areas to ensure cleanliness and safety.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of inmate activities and incidents.
- Continuously assess and evaluate inmate behavior and progress to support rehabilitation efforts.
- Collaborate with other correctional staff to maintain a cohesive and safe working environment.
- Adhere to all departmental policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and goals of the Tennessee Department of Correction.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while interacting with inmates, staff, and visitors.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in all job-related matters.
Minimum Of Two Years Of Experience In A Correctional Facility Or Related Field, With A Strong Understanding Of Correctional Policies And Procedures.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent, With Additional Training Or Education In Criminal Justice Or Related Field Preferred.
Ability To Pass A Thorough Background Check, Including Criminal History And Drug Screening.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Interact With Inmates, Staff, And The General Public.
Knowledge Of Emergency Response Procedures And Ability To Remain Calm And Make Quick Decisions In High-Stress Situations.
