
Statewide Recreation Trails Planner
The State of Oregon is looking for an experienced Statewide Recreation Trails Planner to join our team. We are looking for a motivated individual with a passion for recreation and a commitment to creating safe and accessible trails for Oregonians! The ideal candidate for this position will have a combination of experience in recreation and trail planning, excellent communication skills, and an enthusiasm for collaboration with a variety of stakeholders. Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in recreation, landscape architecture, planning, civil engineering, or related field- At least two years’ experience in recreation and trail planning- Excellent written and verbal communication skills- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, including members of the public, private entities, and local government- Proficient in Microsoft Office and GIS software- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate recreation and trail plans for the State of Oregon.
- Develop creative solutions to address the needs of various stakeholders related to trail planning.
- Conduct research and analysis to inform trail design and planning decisions.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for stakeholders.
- Facilitate public meetings and workshops related to trail planning.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of trail projects.
- Utilize Microsoft Office and GIS software to create maps, charts, and other documents.
- Collaborate with public, private, and local government agencies to ensure successful trail planning.
- Maintain and update knowledge of trends and developments in recreation and trail planning.
- Travel to various locations as needed for meetings and field work.
