- Conduct thorough research and analysis of policy issues and their potential impact on Oregon residents.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including government officials, community organizations, and subject matter experts, to develop and implement effective policies and programs.
- Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and best practices to ensure policies align with state and federal guidelines.
- Present clear and concise policy recommendations to senior leadership and other decision-makers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners to gather input and feedback on policy proposals.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of existing policies and identify areas for improvement.
- Proactively identify emerging policy trends and issues that may affect the state of Oregon and propose strategies to address them.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior policy analysts and other team members.
- Communicate policy decisions and updates to the public through various channels, such as press releases, social media, and public hearings.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and represent the state of Oregon at conferences, meetings, and other events.
- Uphold the values and mission of the state of Oregon in all policy development and decision-making processes.
- Work collaboratively with other departments and agencies to ensure a coordinated and cohesive approach to policy development and implementation.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses and develop budgets for proposed policies and programs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation related to policy development and implementation.
- Continuously seek ways to improve policies and processes to better serve the needs of Oregon residents.
Strong Analytical Skills And Ability To Interpret Complex Data And Information.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Policy Analysis, Preferably In A Government Setting.
Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills, With Experience In Writing Policy Briefs, Reports, And Recommendations.
Knowledge Of State And Federal Laws, Regulations, And Policies Related To The Specific Area Of Policy Analysis (E.g. Healthcare, Education, Environmental).
