
Seasonal Park Ranger Assistant

- Assist park rangers in daily tasks and operations to support the efficient and effective management of state parks.
- Provide excellent customer service to park visitors by answering questions, providing information, and promoting park policies and regulations.
- Help maintain and protect park resources by enforcing rules and regulations, monitoring park activities, and reporting any issues or concerns.
- Participate in conservation and preservation efforts by assisting with trail maintenance, litter control, and other environmental projects.
- Assist with campground operations, including checking in campers, collecting fees, and ensuring campsites are clean and well-maintained.
- Work collaboratively with team members to complete tasks and achieve park goals.
- Serve as a positive role model by following all park policies and procedures and promoting responsible park use.
- Handle any emergencies or incidents that may arise within the park and report them to park rangers.
- Attend and participate in training programs and meetings as required.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to park operations and visitor interactions.
- Represent the park and the state of Oregon in a professional and welcoming manner.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for yourself, team members, and park visitors.
- Assist with special events and programs as needed.
- Continuously strive to improve park operations and visitor experiences through suggestions and feedback.
- Demonstrate a genuine passion for the outdoors and a commitment to preserving and protecting natural resources.
A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education.
Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills.
Knowledge Of Local Flora And Fauna, As Well As Basic Environmental Conservation Principles.
Ability To Work Outdoors In Varying Weather Conditions And Physically Demanding Tasks.
Valid Driver's License And Ability To Operate And Maintain Park Vehicles And Equipment.
