  1. Greet and welcome visitors to the state of Oregon and its parks, providing them with information and guidance as needed.
  2. Assist Park Rangers in maintaining and protecting natural areas, including conducting routine patrols, performing trail maintenance, and ensuring compliance with park rules and regulations.
  3. Educate visitors about the importance of conservation and the proper ways to enjoy and preserve the natural environment.
  4. Help with the management and operation of park facilities, such as campgrounds, picnic areas, and visitor centers.
  5. Participate in the planning and execution of special events and programs, including nature walks, educational workshops, and volunteer projects.
  6. Provide excellent customer service to park visitors, responding to inquiries, concerns, and emergencies in a timely and professional manner.
  7. Enforce park rules and regulations, ensuring the safety of visitors and the protection of park resources.
  8. Assist with the collection of fees, maintenance of records, and other administrative tasks as needed.
  9. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including park facilities, equipment, and vehicles.
  10. Serve as a positive role model for visitors and coworkers, promoting teamwork, professionalism, and a strong work ethic.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Required For This Position. This Shows That The Candidate Has Basic Education And Knowledge Necessary For The Job.

  • Knowledge Of Park Operations: Candidates Should Have A Basic Understanding Of Park Operations, Including Safety Protocols, Maintenance Procedures, And Environmental Regulations. This Knowledge Will Be Essential In Carrying Out Daily Tasks And Responding To Visitor Inquiries.

  • Availability And Flexibility: Seasonal Park Ranger Assistants Are Expected To Work A Variety Of Shifts, Including Weekends And Holidays. They Must Also Be Willing To Work In Different Weather Conditions And Adapt To Changing Schedules And Duties As Needed.
