
Seasonal Park Ranger Assistant

- Greet and welcome visitors to Oregon's parks with enthusiasm and positivity.
- Assist the Park Ranger in maintaining and preserving the natural resources and landscapes of Oregon's parks.
- Provide support in organizing and leading outdoor activities and programs for park visitors.
- Monitor and enforce park rules and regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors.
- Communicate effectively with visitors to provide information and answer questions about the park and its resources.
- Collaborate with other park staff and volunteers to maintain a clean and organized park environment.
- Take initiative in identifying and reporting any potential hazards or issues within the park grounds.
- Assist with basic maintenance tasks such as cleaning facilities, picking up trash, and maintaining trails.
- Serve as a positive role model for visitors, promoting responsible and sustainable use of the park's resources.
- Continuously strive to improve visitor experiences and contribute to the overall success of the park.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For A Seasonal Park Ranger Assistant Position Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That Candidates Have A Basic Level Of Education And Are Able To Understand And Follow Instructions.
Knowledge Of Park Operations: Candidates Should Have A Basic Understanding Of Park Operations, Including Safety Protocols, Visitor Services, And Natural Resource Management. This Knowledge Will Help Them Perform Their Duties Effectively And Provide Quality Service To Park Visitors.
Strong Communication Skills: As A Seasonal Park Ranger Assistant, Candidates Will Be Interacting With Park Visitors, Fellow Staff Members, And Park Management. Therefore, Strong Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, Are Essential For This Role.
Physical Fitness: This Job Requires Candidates To Spend A Significant Amount Of Time Outdoors, Often In Rugged Terrain And Varying Weather Conditions. Candidates Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Perform Physically Demanding Tasks Such As Hiking, Lifting, And Operating Park Equipment.
Valid Driver's License: A Valid Driver's License Is Required For This Role As Seasonal Park Ranger Assistants Are Often Required To Drive Park Vehicles, Such As Trucks And Atvs, To Carry Out Their Duties. A Clean Driving Record And Ability To Operate A Vehicle Safely Are Important Qualifications For This Job.
