  1. Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of state parks, including trails, facilities, and natural areas.
  2. Educate visitors about the natural resources and wildlife found in the state parks.
  3. Monitor and enforce park rules and regulations to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all visitors.
  4. Conduct routine inspections to identify and address any potential hazards or maintenance issues.
  5. Assist in planning and leading educational programs and events related to conservation and the natural environment.
  6. Provide excellent customer service to visitors, answering questions and providing information about the park.
  7. Assist in the management and preservation of park resources, including plants, animals, and historic sites.
  8. Help with the collection of fees and management of park permits.
  9. Collaborate with other park rangers and staff to coordinate and complete projects and tasks.
  10. Maintain accurate records and reports related to park maintenance, visitor statistics, and other relevant data.
  11. Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while working in the park.
  12. Continuously strive to improve the park and enhance the visitor experience through creative ideas and suggestions.
  13. Attend training and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills related to park management and conservation.
  14. Represent the state of Oregon in a professional and positive manner at all times.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by park management.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For This Position Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Level Of Education And Can Perform Tasks Such As Record-Keeping, Data Entry, And Communicating With Visitors Effectively.

  • Valid Driver's License: A Valid Driver's License Is Required For This Position As It Involves Patrolling And Monitoring Different Areas Of The Park. The Candidate Must Be Able To Drive To Different Locations Within The Park And Be Comfortable Operating A Vehicle.

  • First Aid And Cpr Certification: As A Seasonal Park Ranger Assistant, The Candidate May Need To Respond To Emergencies Or Provide First Aid To Visitors. Having A Current First Aid And Cpr Certification Is Essential For This Role To Ensure The Safety And Well-Being Of Park Visitors.

  • Physical Fitness: This Position May Require The Candidate To Hike, Climb, And Perform Physically Demanding Tasks Such As Trail Maintenance. Therefore, It Is Important For The Candidate To Be Physically Fit And Able To Perform These Tasks Without Any Restrictions.

  • Knowledge Of Park Regulations And Safety Procedures: A Basic Understanding Of Park Rules, Regulations, And Safety Procedures Is Crucial For This Position. The Candidate Should Be Familiar With Park Policies And Have The Ability To Educate And Enforce Them With Park Visitors. This Ensures The Safety And Protection Of The Park And Its Visitors.
