Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Permanency Worker at the State of Oregon. In this role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and stability of children and families by facilitating permanency and adoption services.   1. Conduct assessments: Conduct thorough assessments of children and families to determine their needs and eligibility for permanency services.
  2. Develop permanency plans: Develop and implement appropriate permanency plans for children and families involved in the child welfare system.
  3. Facilitate permanency services: Coordinate and facilitate services to support the permanency goals identified for children and families, including adoption, guardianship, and reunification.
  4. Advocate for children and families: Serve as an advocate for the best interests of children and families, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met.
  5. Collaborate with community partners: Build and maintain collaborative relationships with community partners, such as foster care agencies, schools, and mental health providers, to provide comprehensive support to children and families.
  6. Monitor progress: Regularly monitor and evaluate the progress of children and families towards achieving permanency goals and make necessary adjustments to the plan as needed.
  7. Conduct home visits: Conduct home visits to assess the safety and stability of the living environment for children and families.
  8. Maintain accurate records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all case activities, including progress notes, assessments, and documentation of services provided.
  9. Provide support and guidance: Provide support and guidance to children and families as they navigate the child welfare system and work towards permanency.
  10. Attend court hearings: Attend court hearings and provide testimony as needed to advocate for the best interests of children and families.
  11. Participate in training and professional development: Stay updated on current child welfare policies and practices by participating in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  12. Adhere to ethical standards: Adhere to ethical standards and guidelines set by the state of Oregon and the social work profession.
  13. Maintain confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality of all case information and adhere to all privacy regulations.
  14. Collaborate with team members: Work collaboratively with a team of professionals, including social workers, therapists, and attorneys, to provide comprehensive support to children

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working With Children And Families In A Child Welfare Or Social Services Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Child Welfare Laws, Policies, And Procedures.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Engage And Collaborate With Families, Community Partners, And Other Stakeholders.

  • Ability To Manage A Caseload, Prioritize Tasks, And Meet Deadlines While Maintaining Attention To Detail And Accuracy.
