
Permanency Worker

- Conduct thorough assessments of children and families to determine their needs and develop appropriate plans for permanent placement.
- Collaborate with other professionals, including social workers, lawyers, and community organizations, to ensure the best outcomes for children and families.
- Maintain accurate and detailed case records, including documentation of all contacts, assessments, and progress towards permanency goals.
- Advocate for children's best interests and ensure that their rights are upheld throughout the permanency process.
- Facilitate and lead family meetings and other team-based meetings to develop and review permanency plans.
- Conduct thorough background checks and home studies to ensure the safety and suitability of potential adoptive or foster families.
- Provide support and resources to children and families throughout the permanency process, including counseling, referrals, and assistance with accessing services.
- Stay up-to-date on child welfare laws and regulations to ensure compliance and advocate for necessary changes.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with community partners to identify and develop new resources and support systems for children and families in need.
- Represent the agency in court proceedings and provide testimony when necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in all interactions with children and families.
- Continuously evaluate and assess the effectiveness of permanency plans and make adjustments as needed.
- Provide crisis intervention and support services as needed.
- Serve as a positive role model and advocate for the agency's mission and values.
Bachelor's Degree In Social Work, Psychology, Or A Related Field.
Previous Experience In Child Welfare, Adoption, Or Foster Care Services.
Knowledge Of Oregon's Child Welfare System And Laws Related To Permanency Planning.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills For Working With Children, Families, And Other Professionals.
Ability To Work Independently And Make Critical Decisions In Complex And Sensitive Situations.
