Job Description

Welcome to the State of Oregon's Materials Lab Intern position! We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for materials science and laboratory work to join our team. As a Materials Lab Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a state-of-the-art laboratory while working alongside experienced professionals.   1. Conduct laboratory experiments and tests under the direction of senior staff.
  2. Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and precise results.
  3. Prepare samples for testing and record and analyze data.
  4. Communicate and collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and discuss results.
  5. Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
  6. Assist in the development and improvement of testing procedures and protocols.
  7. Stay updated on current materials science research and industry trends.
  8. Present findings and results to team members and other stakeholders.
  9. Complete assigned tasks and projects within designated timelines.
  10. Actively participate in team meetings and contribute ideas and suggestions.
  11. Follow all established protocols and procedures to ensure accuracy and consistency of results.
  12. Document all experimental procedures and results accurately and thoroughly.
  13. Continuously seek opportunities to learn and improve skills and knowledge in materials science and laboratory techniques.
  14. Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information and data.
  15. Adhere to all state and federal regulations and guidelines related to laboratory work.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Materials Science, Engineering, Or A Related Field.
