  1. Oversee the daily operations of the MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility, ensuring that all policies and procedures are followed in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  2. Develop and implement programming designed to address the specific needs and challenges of the youth in our care, with a focus on rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
  3. Lead and manage a team of professionals, including correctional officers, social workers, counselors, and other staff, providing guidance and support in their roles.
  4. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork, open communication, and professional development for all staff members.
  5. Maintain a safe and secure facility by enforcing strict security protocols and ensuring compliance with safety standards and emergency procedures.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies, such as the Department of Juvenile Justice, community organizations, and schools, to enhance the services and resources available to our youth.
  7. Collaborate with the Facility Advisory Board to address any concerns or issues related to the facility and its operations.
  8. Prepare and manage the facility's budget, including allocating resources and monitoring expenses.
  9. Ensure that all youth are treated with dignity and respect, and that their rights are protected at all times.
  10. Serve as a role model for staff and youth by demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to the facility's mission and values.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Managing A Correctional Facility, Preferably In A Youth Or Juvenile Setting.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, Or A Related Field. Master's Degree Preferred.

  • Strong Leadership Skills And The Ability To Effectively Manage A Multi-Disciplinary Team.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of State And Federal Laws And Regulations Related To Youth Correctional Facilities.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Stakeholders, Including Staff, Youth, Families, And Community Partners.
