Job Description

Litigation Paralegal at the State of OregonWe are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join our team at the State of Oregon. In this important role, you will be responsible for providing superior legal services to the Oregon Department of Justice in a variety of civil and criminal areas. You will be an integral part of our legal team, assisting with legal research, document review, and other paralegal tasks. To be successful, you should have strong organizational and analytical skills, as well as a deep understanding of Oregon law. If you are an experienced Litigation Paralegal and are excited to join an innovative and collaborative team, we want to hear from you!Required Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in paralegal studies or a related field• A minimum of three years of paralegal experience in litigation• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software• Knowledge of Oregon state rules and regulations• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills• Ability to work independently and as part of a team• Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment• Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and remain flexible in a dynamic work environment

Responsibilities:

• Perform legal research and analyze complex legal documents • Draft motions, briefs, and other legal documents • Assist in the preparation of discovery requests and responses • Gather and organize evidence for trial • Assist attorneys in the preparation of hearings and trials • Manage the organization and filing of legal documents • Monitor court deadlines and ensure timely filings • Participate in client interviews and meetings • Maintain a working knowledge of relevant Oregon laws and regulations • Provide administrative support to the attorneys and legal team • Handle administrative tasks such as filing, copying, and scanning documents
