- Develop and implement policies and strategies that align with the state's goals and priorities.
- Conduct extensive research and analysis on legislative issues and provide recommendations to decision-makers.
- Collaborate with a team of legislative professionals to draft and review legislation.
- Build and maintain relationships with legislators, lobbyists, and other stakeholders to advance the state's legislative agenda.
- Monitor and track legislation throughout the legislative process, identifying potential challenges and opportunities.
- Prepare briefing materials, reports, and presentations for senior management and elected officials.
- Represent the state in legislative hearings, meetings, and other events.
- Advocate for the state's position on legislative issues and negotiate with other stakeholders to reach consensus.
- Stay up-to-date on current political and social issues that may impact legislative decisions.
- Provide guidance and support to other staff members on legislative matters.
- Manage and coordinate the state's response to legislative inquiries and requests for information.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant state and federal laws and regulations.
- Monitor and manage the state's budget related to legislative activities.
- Continuously evaluate and improve legislative processes and procedures.
- Serve as a liaison between the state and other government agencies, community organizations, and the public.
Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills
Bachelor's Degree In Political Science, Public Administration, Or Related Field
Minimum Of 3 Years Experience Working In A Legislative Setting, Preferably At The State Level
Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Legislative Processes And Procedures
Ability To Build And Maintain Relationships With Legislators, Staff, And Stakeholders
