Job Description

The Oregon Health Authority at the State of Oregon is looking for an outstanding individual to fill the role of Director. This is an exciting and high-profile position that requires an individual with the right combination of experience, qualifications, and enthusiasm to lead our organization into a successful future. We’re looking for a Director who has a passion for public health, a commitment to the highest standards of professional conduct, and a desire to make a positive impact in the lives of Oregonians. The ideal candidate should possess a range of qualifications including: a strong understanding of public health policy, at least eight years of executive experience in a health-related field, a background in health and human services, and excellent communication and leadership skills. Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement health policy initiatives in line with the Oregon Health Authority's mission.
  2. Provide leadership and guidance to staff and stakeholders in the health and human services field.
  3. Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure successful execution of health policy objectives.
  4. Monitor and evaluate progress and outcomes of health policy initiatives.
  5. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including legislators, health professionals, and community members.
  6. Represent the Oregon Health Authority at both internal and external meetings.
  7. Lead, manage, and motivate staff to ensure the successful delivery of public health services.
  8. Develop and administer the health authority's budget.
  9. Develop and implement strategies for improving the quality of health services provided to Oregonians.
  10. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
