
Director of School Facilities and Special Projects

- Oversee all aspects of school facilities management, including building maintenance, safety and security, and capital improvement projects.
- Develop and implement a long-term facilities plan that aligns with the state's education goals and budget.
- Collaborate with school district leaders to assess and prioritize facility needs, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Develop and manage budgets for facility projects, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to state and federal regulations.
- Lead and supervise a team of facility managers and project coordinators, providing guidance and support to ensure successful completion of projects.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and best practices in facilities management and incorporate them into the state's school facilities program.
- Oversee the planning and execution of special projects, such as renovations, new construction, and technology upgrades, to enhance the learning environment for students.
- Work closely with state and local agencies to ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Communicate regularly with school district leaders, government officials, and community stakeholders to provide updates on facility projects and address any concerns.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the state's school facilities program, and make recommendations for improvements as needed.
- Represent the state at meetings, conferences, and other events related to school facilities and special projects.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and commitment to the state's mission of providing quality education to all students.
Bachelor's Degree In Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Managing School Facilities And Special Projects, Preferably In A Government Or Educational Setting.
Proven Leadership And Project Management Skills, With The Ability To Oversee Multiple Projects And Teams Simultaneously.
Extensive Knowledge Of Building Codes, Regulations, And Compliance Requirements In The State Of Oregon.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Diverse Stakeholders And Effectively Communicate Complex Information To A Variety Of Audiences.
