
Direct Support Crisis Specialist
The State of Oregon is seeking a Direct Support Crisis Specialist to join our dynamic team! This role will provide critical support to individuals in crisis and their families. The ideal candidate for this position will be a compassionate, detail-oriented individual with a passion for helping others. The successful candidate must possess a combination of strong communication, interpersonal, and assessment skills to provide direct support services to individuals and families in crisis. Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly to communication from individuals and families in crisis and provide direct support services
- Develop and implement crisis and safety plans as needed
- Assess needs and situation of individuals and families in crisis, and provide appropriate interventions and referrals
- Utilize effective communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with individuals and families in crisis
- Document assessments, interventions, and referrals in accordance with program policies and procedures
- Provide advocacy services to individuals and families in crisis as needed
- Participate in team meetings and trainings as required
- Maintain strict confidentiality when working with individuals in crisis and their families
Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills
Or A Related Field
Bachelor's Degree In Psychology
Sociology
Extensive Experience Working In The Mental Health Field
Understanding Of Crisis Intervention And De-Escalation Techniques
Ability To Work Effectively In A Fast-Paced Environment
Knowledge Of State And Federal Laws Governing Mental Health Services
