  7. Provide support and guidance to families, including parenting education, counseling, and crisis intervention.
  8. Maintain regular contact with children and families under the agency's care, monitoring their progress and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
  9. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated on best practices and policies in child welfare.
  10. Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to develop and implement prevention and intervention strategies to protect children from abuse and neglect.
  11. Participate in team meetings and case conferences to discuss and review cases, sharing insights and recommendations for the best course of action.
  12. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards, following agency policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all involved parties.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Social Work, Psychology, Or A Related Field: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field Is Typically Required For A Child Protective Services Worker Position At The State Of Oregon. This Degree Provides A Strong Foundation In Human Behavior, Social Systems, And Research Methods, All Of Which Are Important For Working With Families And Children In Crisis.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Effective Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Child Protective Services Workers To Build Rapport With Families, Collaborate With Other Professionals, And Maintain Accurate And Thorough Case Documentation. These Skills Are Also Crucial For Diffusing Potentially Volatile Situations And De-Escalating Conflicts.
