Job Description

The State of Oregon Child Protective Services (CPS) Assessment Worker role is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of Oregon children and families. We are looking for an individual with a passion for helping others, as well as the ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with empathy and professionalism. The ideal candidate should have strong communication and organizational skills, and be able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively. This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a related field, a valid driver’s license, and experience working with vulnerable populations. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide thorough assessments of the safety and wellbeing of Oregon children and families in need of assistance.
  2. Utilize strong communication and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
  3. Utilize empathy and professionalism when dealing with difficult and stressful situations.
  4. Develop and implement service plans with families to ensure that the safety of the child and family is maintained.
  5. Collaborate with other professionals, such as law enforcement, mental health professionals, and school personnel to ensure that the best interests of Oregon children are served.
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments and services provided.
  7. Maintain a valid driver’s license and remain current on all Oregon Child Protective Services policies and procedures.
