- Develop and implement effective communication strategies to inform the public about the work and initiatives of the State of Nevada.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with media outlets to secure positive coverage of state government activities.
- Serve as the main point of contact for media inquiries and coordinate responses with relevant state agencies.
- Create and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other materials to promote and highlight the accomplishments of the state government.
- Monitor and analyze media coverage and public perception of the state government and provide recommendations for improving communication strategies.
- Develop and maintain a strong online and social media presence to engage with the public and disseminate information.
- Coordinate and participate in press conferences, interviews, and other media events on behalf of the state government.
- Collaborate with state agencies to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of information to the public.
- Provide guidance and support to state agencies on effective communication practices and messaging.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community leaders and stakeholders to promote awareness and understanding of state government initiatives.
- Stay updated on current events and issues related to the state government and proactively address potential public relations challenges.
- Serve as a spokesperson for the state government and accurately represent its policies and positions to the public.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, and policies related to public information and communications.
- Prepare and deliver presentations and training sessions to educate state employees on effective communication strategies.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or higher authorities.
Bachelor's Degree In Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Public Information, Media Relations, Or A Related Field.
Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills, Including The Ability To Write And Edit Press Releases, Media Advisories, And Other Communication Materials.
Knowledge Of Government Processes And Procedures, As Well As Experience Working With Government Agencies.
Ability To Handle Crisis Communication Situations And Work Under Tight Deadlines.
