  1. Provide excellent customer service to all library patrons, welcoming them to the State of Nevada and helping them find the information they need.
  2. Maintain organized and up-to-date collections of books, magazines, newspapers, and other materials, ensuring that all items are properly catalogued and easily accessible.
  3. Assist patrons in finding and accessing information and resources, including using online databases and other electronic resources.
  4. Develop and implement programming and events to engage the community and promote literacy and a love for reading.
  5. Stay current on trends and developments in the library field, and use this knowledge to continuously improve and enhance library services.
  6. Collaborate with other librarians and library staff to plan and execute library initiatives, such as book clubs, educational workshops, and community outreach programs.
  7. Help patrons navigate the library's digital resources and technology, including computers, printers, and online resources.
  8. Maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment for all patrons, regardless of age, background, or ability.
  9. Work with library volunteers and interns, providing guidance and support to ensure the smooth operation of the library.
  10. Handle administrative tasks, such as managing library budgets, ordering new materials, and maintaining accurate records of library usage and circulation.
  11. Stay informed about library policies and procedures, and enforce them to ensure the safety and security of patrons and library materials.
  12. Serve as a liaison between the library and the community, building relationships with local schools, organizations, and businesses to promote library services and resources.

Job Qualifications
  • A Master's Degree In Library Science Or Information Science From An Accredited Institution.

  • At Least Two Years Of Experience Working In A Library Setting, Preferably In A Supervisory Or Managerial Role.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Library Systems And Technologies, Such As Cataloging Software And Digital Databases.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work With Diverse Populations And Provide Exceptional Customer Service.

  • A Thorough Understanding Of Library Ethics And Principles, As Well As A Commitment To Promoting Intellectual Freedom And Access To Information For All.
