  1. Perform routine maintenance tasks on state highways, including but not limited to filling potholes, repairing guardrails, and clearing debris.
  2. Conduct inspections and report any damages or hazards found on state highways to appropriate authorities.
  3. Operate and maintain various equipment and vehicles used for highway maintenance, such as plows, dump trucks, and mowers.
  4. Respond to emergency situations, such as accidents or inclement weather, to ensure the safety of motorists and assist in clean-up efforts.
  5. Follow all safety protocols and procedures while working on state highways to prevent accidents and injuries.
  6. Maintain records of work completed, materials used, and equipment maintenance to ensure accurate documentation.
  7. Collaborate with other team members and supervisors to prioritize and plan maintenance tasks.
  8. Communicate with the public in a professional and courteous manner while performing duties on state highways.
  9. Continuously monitor and assess the condition of state highways to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.
  10. Attend training sessions and stay up-to-date on best practices and techniques for highway maintenance.
  11. Adhere to state and federal regulations and guidelines for highway maintenance.
  12. Assist in special projects and events as needed, such as road construction or maintenance for public events.
  13. Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times, representing the State of Nevada in a positive manner.

Job Qualifications

  • Cdl License: Possession Of A Commercial Driver's License (Cdl) Is A Plus For This Position. This License Allows The Candidate To Operate Specialized Equipment And Vehicles, Such As Snowplows And Dump Trucks, Which Are Commonly Used In Highway Maintenance.
