We are currently seeking a highly qualified and passionate individual to join our team as the Wildlife Section Manager.As the Wildlife Section Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the state's wildlife programs and initiatives. You will work closely with a team of dedicated professionals to ensure the sustainable management of our wildlife populations and habitats.   1. Oversee and manage all wildlife programs and initiatives within the State of Minnesota's Department of Natural Resources.
  2. Develop and implement effective wildlife management strategies to ensure the sustainable management of wildlife populations and habitats.
  3. Work closely with a team of professionals to coordinate and execute wildlife management plans.
  4. Monitor and analyze data and research on wildlife populations, habitats, and threats to inform management decisions.
  5. Collaborate with other departments and agencies to develop and implement cross-functional initiatives to protect and preserve wildlife and natural resources.
  6. Create and manage budgets for wildlife programs and initiatives.
  7. Provide guidance and support to staff members, including training and professional development opportunities.
  8. Stay updated on current wildlife management practices and regulations at the state and federal levels.
  9. Represent the Department of Natural Resources at meetings, conferences, and public forums to educate and engage stakeholders on wildlife management efforts.
  10. Collaborate with community organizations, educational institutions, and other stakeholders to promote awareness and involvement in wildlife conservation efforts.
  11. Develop and maintain relationships with elected officials, community leaders, and other stakeholders to advocate for wildlife conservation.
  12. Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations related to wildlife management.
  13. Prepare and present reports, recommendations, and proposals to senior management and other stakeholders.
  14. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes diversity and equity.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve wildlife management programs and initiatives to meet the changing needs of the state's wildlife and natural resources.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Wildlife Management, Natural Resource Management, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Wildlife Management, With At Least 2 Years In A Supervisory Or Managerial Role.

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Local And State Wildlife Laws, Regulations, And Policies.

  • Strong Leadership Skills And Ability To Effectively Manage A Team Of Wildlife Professionals.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Various Stakeholders, Including Government Agencies, Community Groups, And Private Organizations.
