  1. Conduct legal research and analysis on a variety of issues pertaining to the State of Minnesota.
  2. Draft and review legal documents, including briefs, memoranda, and contracts.
  3. Provide legal advice and guidance to state agencies, officials, and employees.
  4. Represent the State of Minnesota in administrative hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings.
  5. Collaborate with other members of the legal team to develop strategies and solutions for complex legal issues.
  6. Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
  7. Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders, including providing updates and recommendations.
  8. Stay informed of current legal trends and developments that may impact the state.
  9. Uphold ethical standards and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  10. Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of work.
  11. Assist in developing and implementing training programs for state employees on legal matters.
  12. Participate in professional development activities to enhance legal knowledge and skills.
  13. Meet deadlines and manage a high volume of cases and responsibilities.
  14. Adhere to all state and federal laws and regulations.
  15. Support and promote the mission and values of the State of Minnesota.

Job Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.d.) Degree From An Accredited Law School

  • Admission To The Minnesota State Bar Association

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience Practicing Law, Preferably In A Government Agency Or Related Field

  • Strong Knowledge Of State And Federal Laws And Regulations

  • Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Represent The State In Legal Proceedings.
