Job Description

  1. Provide support and assistance to residents in their daily activities.
  2. Be a positive role model for residents and promote a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  3. Assist with personal care needs, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  4. Monitor and report any changes in residents' physical or mental health to the appropriate staff members.
  5. Help residents maintain their independence and dignity by encouraging and promoting self-care.
  6. Collaborate with other staff members to create and implement individualized care plans for residents.
  7. Foster a sense of community and belonging among residents by organizing and facilitating group activities and events.
  8. Ensure the safety and well-being of residents at all times.
  9. Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and other staff members.
  10. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of resident care and progress.
  11. Adhere to all state and federal regulations and guidelines for resident care.
  12. Attend training and educational sessions to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
  13. Participate in regular team meetings and contribute ideas for improving resident care and community engagement.
  14. Demonstrate compassion, patience, and understanding towards residents and their families.
  15. Uphold the values and mission of the State of Minnesota and the assisted living facility.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: As A Resident Assistant, Effective Communication Is Essential In Building Relationships With Residents And Addressing Any Issues That May Arise.

  • Strong Leadership Abilities: A Resident Assistant Is Responsible For Overseeing A Floor Or Building Of Residents, Making Important Decisions And Handling Difficult Situations. Therefore, Strong Leadership Skills Are A Must.

  • Empathy And Understanding: A Resident Assistant Must Be Able To Empathize With And Understand The Diverse Backgrounds And Needs Of Their Residents. This Includes Being Sensitive To Cultural Differences And Creating An Inclusive And Welcoming Community For All.
