  1. Conduct inspections of public facilities and environments to ensure compliance with public health laws and regulations.
  2. Identify potential health hazards and work with local agencies and businesses to implement corrective actions.
  3. Conduct investigations and gather evidence for cases involving public health violations.
  4. Collaborate with other public health professionals to develop and implement strategies for improving community health.
  5. Monitor and enforce public health regulations related to food safety, water quality, air quality, and waste management.
  6. Educate the public on public health issues and promote healthy behaviors and practices.
  7. Review and analyze data to identify trends and potential areas for improvement in public health.
  8. Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, investigations, and enforcement actions.
  9. Provide technical assistance and guidance to businesses, organizations, and individuals on public health regulations and best practices.
  10. Stay updated on current laws, regulations, and best practices related to public health and environmental health and safety.
  11. Collaborate with state and local agencies, as well as community organizations, to develop and implement public health initiatives.
  12. Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and effectively communicate public health information to diverse audiences.
  13. Participate in trainings, conferences, and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills in public health and environmental health and safety.
  14. Adhere to ethical and professional standards in all aspects of the job.
  15. Act as a representative of the state in matters related to public health and environmental health and safety.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Environmental Health, Public Health, Or A Related Field.

  • Current Certification As A Registered Environmental Health Specialist (Rehs) Or Registered Sanitarian (Rs).

  • Knowledge Of State And Federal Public Health Laws And Regulations.

  • Experience Conducting Inspections And Investigations Related To Food Safety, Water Quality, And Environmental Health Hazards.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Communicate Complex Health Information To Diverse Populations.
