- Maintain and upkeep the grounds of the State of Minnesota in a timely and efficient manner.
- Perform routine landscaping tasks such as mowing, trimming, planting, and watering to keep the outdoor spaces in pristine condition.
- Operate and maintain various landscaping equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Monitor and report any safety hazards or issues related to the grounds, such as broken pathways, damaged structures, or hazardous plants.
- Communicate effectively with team members and superiors to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth workflow.
- Assist in planning and implementing new landscape designs and improvements to enhance the beauty and functionality of the outdoor spaces.
- Identify and address any pest or disease issues in plants and trees, and take appropriate measures to prevent further damage.
- Maintain records of all landscaping activities, including materials used, time spent, and progress made.
- Work in accordance with all safety and environmental regulations and guidelines.
- Provide excellent customer service to visitors and community members, answering any questions and addressing any concerns they may have.
- Collaborate with other groundskeepers and maintenance staff to complete larger projects and support team goals.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in landscaping and horticulture to bring new ideas and techniques to the job.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure all tools and equipment are properly stored after use.
- Uphold the values and mission of the State of Minnesota in all aspects of the job.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In Groundskeeping Or Landscaping.
Knowledge Of Grounds Maintenance Equipment And Tools, Including Mowers, Trimmers, And Hand Tools.
Ability To Lift And Carry Heavy Objects, Stand For Long Periods Of Time, And Work In Various Weather Conditions.
Excellent Communication Skills And Ability To Work Independently Or As Part Of A Team.
