Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services Operations Manager at the State of Minnesota. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing essential services and support to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community across the state.   1. Develop and implement operational strategies and policies to effectively support the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community in the state of Minnesota.
  2. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services department, ensuring efficient and high-quality service delivery.
  3. Manage and supervise a team of staff, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to promote professional growth and development.
  4. Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure coordination and integration of services for individuals with hearing impairments.
  5. Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and stakeholders to advocate for the needs of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.
  6. Monitor and analyze program data to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for program enhancements.
  7. Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, as well as agency policies and procedures.
  8. Manage budget and resources to ensure effective utilization and allocation of funds.
  9. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve services and operations.
  10. Serve as a liaison between the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community and the agency, representing their needs and concerns to agency leadership.
  11. Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes to support the overall goals of the agency.
  12. Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff to promote a culture of excellence and accountability.
  13. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that values diversity and promotes teamwork and collaboration.
  14. Develop and maintain partnerships with external organizations and agencies to enhance services and resources for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.
  15. Serve as a subject matter expert on Deaf and Hard of Hearing issues, providing guidance and support to staff and the community.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Deaf Studies, Deaf Education, Special Education, Or A Related Field.

  • At Least 5 Years Of Experience Working In A Leadership Or Management Role In A Deaf And Hard Of Hearing Services Program Or Organization.

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Laws And Regulations Pertaining To The Provision Of Services For Individuals Who Are Deaf, Deafblind, Or Hard Of Hearing.

  • Experience In Budget Management, Grant Writing, And Program Development.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Diverse Individuals And Organizations Within The Deaf And Hard Of Hearing Community.
