- Develop policies: Develop, evaluate, and recommend policies that align with the state's budget goals and priorities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders: Collaborate with various stakeholders, including government officials, department heads, and community members to gather information and insights for budget and policy development.
- Monitor budget performance: Monitor and track budget performance, identifying discrepancies and providing recommendations for adjustments.

- Present findings and recommendations: Prepare and present reports and presentations on budget analysis and policy recommendations to government officials and stakeholders.
- Forecast budget needs: Use historical data and forecasting techniques to predict future budget needs and make recommendations for budget allocations.
- Conduct cost-benefit analysis: Conduct cost-benefit analysis for proposed policies and initiatives to determine their financial feasibility and impact on the state budget.
- Ensure compliance: Ensure that all policies and budget decisions comply with state and federal regulations and guidelines.
- Stay updated on best practices: Stay updated on best practices in budgeting and policy development and implement them in the state's budgeting process.
- Train and mentor staff: Train and mentor junior budget and policy analysts to improve their skills and knowledge in budgeting and policy development.
- Foster relationships: Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, external partners, and colleagues to facilitate effective budget and policy development.
- Maintain confidentiality: Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and maintain the highest level of confidentiality in all budget and policy-related matters.
- Evaluate budget requests: Evaluate budget requests from various departments and make recommendations for funding based on budget priorities and limitations.
- Continuous improvement: Continuously review and improve budgeting and policy development processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Bachelor's Degree In Economics, Public Policy, Finance, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Budget Analysis And Policy Development.
Knowledge Of State And Federal Budget Processes And Procedures.
Strong Analytical And Critical Thinking Skills, With The Ability To Interpret Complex Data And Make Sound Recommendations.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Various Stakeholders And Present Information To Decision-Makers.
