  1. Conduct research and collect data on water resources in mining areas.
  2. Assist in the development and implementation of water management plans for mining operations.
  3. Monitor and analyze water quality and quantity data to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  4. Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to identify potential environmental impacts of mining activities and develop mitigation strategies.
  5. Conduct field investigations and site visits to assess the impact of mining on water resources.
  6. Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on water resource management activities.
  7. Assist in the review and evaluation of permit applications for mining projects.
  8. Provide technical support and guidance to mining companies on water resource management best practices.
  9. Stay up-to-date with current research and developments in the field of mining hydrology.
  10. Participate in meetings and public hearings to discuss water resource management issues related to mining operations.
  11. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols while conducting fieldwork.
  12. Collaborate with other departments and agencies to develop and implement comprehensive water resource management policies.
  13. Train and mentor junior team members on hydrology principles and practices.
  14. Act as a liaison between the state government and mining companies to address any water resource management concerns.
  15. Contribute to the overall mission of protecting and preserving Minnesota's natural resources through responsible and sustainable mining practices.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Hydrology, Geology, Environmental Science, Or A Related Field.

  • At Least 2 Years Of Experience In Water Resources Management, Preferably In The Mining Industry.

  • Knowledge Of State And Federal Regulations Related To Mining And Water Resources.

  • Strong Analytical Skills And Experience With Hydrologic Modeling Software.

  • Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Various Stakeholders, Including Mining Companies, Government Agencies, And Community Members.
