- Conduct legal research and analysis on various issues related to state laws and regulations.
- Represent the State of Minnesota in legal proceedings, including but not limited to court hearings, mediations, and arbitrations.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to state agencies and officials on matters pertaining to their duties and responsibilities.
- Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and memoranda.
- Participate in negotiations and settlement discussions on behalf of the State.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals to ensure consistency and accuracy in legal strategies and decisions.
- Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and legal developments that may impact the State.
- Communicate and interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and ethical standards in all aspects of work.
- Uphold the principles of public service and work towards the best interests of the citizens of Minnesota.
- Handle a high-volume caseload and manage priorities efficiently and effectively.
- Attend training and professional development opportunities to enhance legal skills and knowledge.
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and privacy standards in handling sensitive legal matters.
- Assist in the management and supervision of legal support staff, as needed.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and guidelines established by the Office of the Attorney General.
Law Degree: A Minimum Of A Juris Doctor (J.d.) Degree From An Accredited Law School.
Admission To State Bar: Must Be Admitted To Practice Law In The State Of Minnesota And Be In Good Standing With The State Bar Association.
Legal Experience: At Least 3-5 Years Of Relevant Legal Experience, Preferably In Government Or Public Service, With A Strong Understanding Of State And Local Laws And Regulations.
Litigation Skills: Demonstrated Experience In Conducting Legal Research, Drafting Legal Documents, And Representing Clients In Court. Should Also Possess Strong Analytical, Writing, And Oral Advocacy Skills.
Knowledge Of State Government: A Thorough Understanding Of State Government Structure, Policies, And Procedures, As Well As Knowledge Of The Legislative Process And Administrative Rulemaking. Prior Experience Working With State Agencies Or In The Attorney General's Office Is Preferred.
