Job Description

  1. Provide assistance to individuals and families in need by assessing their financial situation and determining eligibility for assistance programs.
  2. Communicate effectively with diverse populations, including those who may speak English and Spanish, to gather information and explain available resources.
  3. Utilize knowledge of different cultures and languages to effectively communicate and understand the needs of clients.
  4. Maintain accurate and detailed records of client interactions and case information.
  5. Collaborate with other social service agencies and community resources to ensure clients receive comprehensive support.
  6. Keep up-to-date with state and federal regulations, policies, and procedures related to assistance programs.
  7. Conduct interviews and home visits to gather necessary information and determine eligibility for assistance programs.
  8. Provide compassionate and non-judgmental support to clients during their time of need.
  9. Follow up with clients to ensure they are receiving the appropriate assistance and services.
  10. Continuously evaluate and improve processes to better serve clients and meet their needs.
  11. Represent the agency and its mission in a professional and positive manner.
  12. Attend trainings and meetings to stay informed on new policies and procedures.
  13. Maintain confidentiality of client information in accordance with agency and state regulations.
  14. Advocate for clients and connect them with additional resources and support as needed.
  15. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment by working collaboratively with colleagues and promoting teamwork.

Job Qualifications
  • Fluency In At Least Two Languages: The Candidate Must Be Proficient In Both English And Another Language, Such As Spanish, Arabic, Or Mandarin. This Is Essential For Effectively Communicating With Clients Who May Not Speak English As Their First Language.

  • Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field: A Bachelor's Degree In Social Work, Human Services, Or A Related Field Is Typically Required For This Position. This Demonstrates A Strong Understanding Of Social Services And The Ability To Analyze And Assess Clients' Needs.

  • Knowledge Of State And Federal Assistance Programs: The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Various Assistance Programs Offered By The State And Federal Government. This Includes Knowledge Of Eligibility Requirements, Application Processes, And Program Regulations.

  • Experience In Social Services Or Customer Service: Previous Experience Working In A Social Services Setting Or Providing Customer Service Is Highly Desirable For This Role. This Experience Demonstrates The Ability To Work With Diverse Populations And Effectively Handle Sensitive And Complex Situations.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Bilingual Assistance Payments Worker, The Candidate Will Be Working With A Diverse Group Of Clients On A Daily Basis. Therefore, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Building Rapport And Effectively Advocating For Clients' Needs.
