Job Description

In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to develop and implement customized therapeutic recreation programs for individuals with physical, emotional, and developmental disabilities. To be successful in this position, you must possess a Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy or a related field, a valid certification from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification, and a minimum of two years of experience in providing recreational therapy services.   1. Develop and implement individualized therapeutic recreation programs for clients with physical, emotional, and developmental disabilities.
  2. Utilize knowledge of recreational therapy techniques and practices to enhance the physical, emotional, and social well-being of clients.
  3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop treatment plans and goals for clients.
  4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client progress and treatment plans.
  5. Utilize creativity and adaptability to modify programs and activities based on individual client needs.
  6. Provide one-on-one and group therapy sessions to clients.
  7. Maintain a safe and supportive environment for clients during therapy sessions.
  8. Continuously evaluate and adjust therapy plans based on client progress and feedback.
  9. Educate clients and their families on the benefits of recreational therapy and how it can improve overall well-being.
  10. Stay updated on the latest research and developments in the field of recreational therapy.
  11. Ensure all therapy sessions are conducted in accordance with ethical standards and guidelines.
  12. Collaborate with community organizations and resources to provide additional recreational opportunities for clients.
  13. Attend and participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.
  14. Adhere to all state and federal regulations and guidelines related to recreational therapy.
  15. Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and patience while working with clients.
  16. Serve as an advocate for clients and their needs.
  17. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
  18. Strive to create a positive and inclusive environment for clients with diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  19. Maintain a valid certification from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification.
  20. Possess a Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy or a related field.
  21. Have a minimum of two years of experience in providing recreational therapy services.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, Or A Related Field.

  • Certification As A Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (Ctrs) Through The National Council For Therapeutic Recreation Certification (Nctrc).

  • Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Or Recreational Therapy Setting, Preferably Working With Individuals With Disabilities Or Chronic Illnesses.

  • Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Therapeutic Interventions And Ability To Develop And Implement Individualized Treatment Plans.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team And Effectively Communicate With Clients And Their Families.
