
Aviation Manager 14 (Chief Pilot)

- Oversee all aspects of aviation operations for the State of Michigan, including managing a team of pilots and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and safety protocols.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures related to aviation operations to ensure safe and efficient practices.
- Serve as the main point of contact for all aviation-related matters and liaise with other departments and agencies as needed.
- Monitor and maintain the state's fleet of aircraft, including scheduling and coordinating maintenance and repairs.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and address any potential hazards or issues.
- Stay up-to-date on industry changes and advancements in aviation technology to make recommendations for improvements to the state's aviation program.
- Foster a culture of safety and excellence within the aviation team through training, mentorship, and regular communication.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate flight schedules and ensure timely and efficient transportation for government officials and employees.
- Prepare and manage budgets for aviation operations, including tracking expenses and making cost-saving recommendations.
- Represent the state at industry events and conferences, and maintain relationships with other aviation professionals and organizations.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience As A Commercial Airline Pilot.
Bachelor's Degree In Aviation, Aeronautical Science, Or Related Field.
Faa Airline Transport Pilot (Atp) Certificate.
Experience In Leading And Managing A Team Of Pilots And Flight Operations Personnel.
Strong Knowledge Of Faa Regulations, Safety Standards, And Aviation Industry Best Practices.
