  1. Oversee the operations and performance of the Division of Animal Health's Animal Agriculture Inspection Program.
  2. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations pertaining to animal health and agriculture.
  3. Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the program.
  4. Supervise a team of inspectors and support staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  5. Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure the highest standards of animal health and welfare are maintained.
  6. Collaborate with other state agencies and stakeholders to develop and implement animal health and agriculture initiatives.
  7. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in animal health and agriculture to inform program operations.
  8. Represent the Division of Animal Health and the state of Massachusetts at conferences, meetings, and other events.
  9. Conduct investigations and respond to complaints related to animal agriculture activities.
  10. Develop and manage budgets for the Animal Agriculture Inspection Program.
  11. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment for staff, promoting teamwork and professional development.
  12. Communicate regularly with government officials, industry leaders, and the public to promote the mission and goals of the program.
  13. Ensure that all program activities are conducted in accordance with ethical and legal standards.
  14. Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on program activities and outcomes.
  15. Advocate for the well-being of animals and the protection of public health through effective leadership and decision-making.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Public Administration, Business Administration, Or Human Resources.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In A Supervisory Role, Preferably In A Government Or Public Sector Setting.

  • Strong Understanding Of State And Federal Laws, Regulations, And Policies Related To Personnel Management And Human Resources.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Manage And Mentor A Team Of Aaivs.

  • Proficiency In Computer Applications And Software, Including Microsoft Office And Hris Systems.
